I received a call last Friday from a woman who had found a lutino cockateil in her backyard. She didn't have the facility to take care of the bird, so could the Parrot Haven take care of her? PFC members, Dennis & Kerry, of AB Seed, picked up the bird who spent the day socializing at the club's annual picnic, then went home to the Parrot Haven. She weighed in at 80 grams. I placed the ad in Newsday and within a few days had received several calls. It seems that "Blaze's" owner had gone on vacation and the sitter left the door open. Two tiels escaped, but unfortunately only one was was recovered. It was a happy reunion seeing Blaze run up and down all over Mom.
